Question:

Something I wrote.?

What do you think of this poem I wrote?

What I Don't Understand Is
Why Everyone Is So Sad
When Someone Dies
We All Die Someday
We Can't Control It

It's Like When Someone Dies
We Pretend It Isn't Happening
Even Though We Know It's True
We Tell Them It Wil Be Okay
As They Pass Away

The Other Day Someone Died In A Car Crash
Even People Who Don't Know Him Cry At The Funeral
Why Is This
We Never Cared Before
So Why Do We Now
Just Because They Are Gone

Do We Only Want Them There For Our Own Security
When They Are Gone Is The Only Time We Care
The Only Time When We Are Sorry
It's Too Bad They Can't Hear It

It Doesn't Matter To Him
He's Dead
He Can't Hear Your Apologies
He Can' Hear Your Goodbyes
We All Die
Different Times
Different Ways
Death Is Just An inconvenience For Others

This poem comes at the perfect time for me and my husband.
We are dealing with DEATH everyday.
My husbands father is 94, lived a good life and is dying slowly of terminal cancer.
We have been so lucky to spend these last days and weeks with him. But watching death at the door is not something I enjoy. You say your goodbyes, your thoughts, your love but it is never enough. You try to make him calm, you reassure him, you pray with him. It is never enough.
His life is slipping through the open door. You watch it, you accept it but it is still so very hard.
Yes, everyone dies. We all make that huge step into the unknown. It is how we accept life and death that makes us whole.
Why do we cry? It is our loss. We somehow selfishly hope our parents and loved ones will live forever, but God teaches us to let go because he has another plan.

We are letting go in our time and our way. It is his time to pass over and we want to make sure he does it HIS WAY.
Each of us will travel this road. If we get the chance to take a journey, lets do it our way.
Life is Love and Love is Life.

Your poem will speak to many.
