Question:

Is this any good?

A massive land, powerful and free,
Ruled by a child, only three times three.
This little ruler now is gone,
But the country he controlled lives on.
Why this tiny miracle was forced to go,
An answer we may not ever know.
This land was Egypt, full of power,
The boy had control, for one short hour
Nonetheless we all must continue
On with our lives, working hard to pass
The trials coming at every venue.
Take heed of everyone and everything,
And be careful with the gifts people bring,
Even allies can be snakes in the grass.

It's ok. The Rhyme scheme is very strong, very strict aabb. Maybe rephrase the advice given at the end. If the presentation of that were better worded it would be more captivating. Perhaps don't use the line "snakes in the grass" it sounds a little cliche. I really like where you were going with take heed of everyone and everything, and even the line after that, but the ending philosophy is trite. It's that one line.
