Question:

Should I major in Russian/German, Sociology, or Philosophy, and why?

Assume that I have a knack for languages (particularly Russian and German), but am extremely drawn to the everyday fabric of "civilization" which Sociology engenders, but also the deeper and almost abject questioning that Philosophy dares to stab. Help me in my search for my self!

Do the languages as electives unless you plan to join the CIA or be a translator? Sociology will give you more options for Grad school, Psych, Social work, etc. Philosophy is all you really learn in most college classes so I'd say no to that. If you're a deep thinker, you don't need to learn how all the other deep thinkers thought to think deeper. Pick up the philosophy reading lists and read them for yourself.
