I'm a member of our local quilt guild and we make a large number of lap quilts for the veterans hospitals from old jeans: jeans are fabulous for lap quilts, especially with a pocket or two sewn onto it for a cell phone, pen & paper or snack..., however the cost to ship old jeans would be prohibitive.

My suggestion would be to check at local quilt shops and ask for the names of any local quilters. I'm sure you'll find someone who can put those jeans to use and would be very appreciative of your generous donation: otherwise you can email me and I can give you directions on how to make your own quilt - a fun and rewarding project!
