I read your poems. I would like to preface this critique with the fact that I am not an art critic. I am perfectly aware, that one man's angel is another's ball and chain. Here goes.

You have knack for rhyme and a hint of rhythm. In my opinion, your poems are too literal. To me, the art of poetry is the art of metaphor. The power of metaphor is that it lends itself towards layers and layers of interpretation. Thus enabling readers to perceive their own life in your words. Reading your poems, I get your perception of your experience. A poem steeped in metaphor allows any number of readers to feel your words, through their own experience.
I recommend that you verse yourself with WB Yeats, Edgar Allen Poe, Baudelaire and especially Rimbaud.
