Does anyone have an explanation for Chopin having had such bad health?

Does anyone have an explanation for Chopin having had such bad health?

Was he just born with a weakened immune system? Or did he take bad care of himself?

Chopin had always been a frail little fellow and he suffered chronic lung trouble that tended to get worse in cold weather. I think he generally tried to look after himself. And I'm sure George Sand did her best for him too.
