I know this song! My silent heart
First heard it many moons ago...
The crowded dance floor seemed to part
As we exchanged a shy hello;
I, but a lad, and you, so fair!
Words failed my clumsy tongue's command,
But as the music filled the air,
I offered you my open hand.
Since, each step you've matched my measure,
With a tune all of your own,
Hand in hand, we've moved together
Bringing joy I'd never known;
How you've lit the nights with laughter,
How you've sparkled like champagne!
Though the song played on thereafter,
Yet I asked your hand again.
Hand in hand, two flames united,
As a theme begins to play,
All around us, friends delighted,
For it is our wedding day.
