get an electronic tuner or use a keyboard. follow the cgcgcc pattern on the strings - 1 thru 6.
easy.
or use your guitar itself to tune. find a c on a low string but not the string you want to tune, and tune your lowest string to it....continue along in the same fashion
in this notation 'cgcgcc' - the strings are labeled from 6 to 1, that's low to high
