I definitely care. But sounding a note of reality on a planet drenched in dysfunction and greed--it's often worth checking out a given charity before contributing. Some of them are, sadly, scams. I've discovered that it is far too usual that the "top brass" award themselves huge, and most probably not at all deserved, compensation packages.

The funding for such of course comes from the donations. Many people assume that charities are run only by "saintly" people. Alas, no. There's "big money" in charities. That always attracts sharks, sociopaths, and scum. Just be aware :)))
