Haiku?????

Is it alright to put a period at the last line of the last stanza of a haiku poem?

EX:

"Look! The Phoenix Pear
Tree flames once more at dusk - Yes!
We live forever"

Should there be a period after "forever"?

you should not put a period after the last word of a Haiku. They can be written in one line ( the traditional Japanese style) or in 3 lines ( the English style) but do not have a period to end the poem. Hope that helps!
