The poem is wonderful. The question? Is it about the sacrifice or is it about the heart? Is it about when to stop the sacrifice of the heart? For when do you know that love is real? Does "love" have to have sacrifice at all? Why can it not be compromise and moderation instead? May the words be a trick in itself to stop the answer that the person is afraid of hearing deep inside of them? It may be that the answer was there all along and the person was incapable or unwilling to allow themselves to admit this.
