this is what I got from your poem.
first four lines- is explaining childhood.
fifth line. until death
next four lines- explains adulthood and all tribulations one encounters, but you just keep going.
last four lines is talking about old age and how one looks at the world growing through the same stages mentioned at the beginning of your poem...
