Writting a script?

So I'm planning on doing ScriptFrenzy this year after all the fun I had doing NaNoWriMo and I just realized I don't have the first clue about how to write a script. I mean I know what it entails but I don't know how to do any of the formatting or stage directions. I've heard people mention programs for this, can anyone recommend any good ones. Preferably free ones because I don't know that I'm ever going to write another script and don't want to spend a ton of money.

NaNoWriMo was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to ScriptFrenzy, too. The link below will give you some basics and will answer most of your questions. As for software, I haven't found any that really works but it's been several years, and none were free. With SF, I'm not sure that "final form" is all that necessary, as long as it is in a rough script form. Good luck with your project!
