Does any one have any ideas for a unique take on landscapes for an art gcse final piece?

I was thinking something to do with beaches/sunsets or canals

Lovely sentiment of the previous poster, but the exam has to be done in school. So the only way that you can do that would be to take lots of photos and select which ones will be your inspiration.
*light bulb!* is there a canal nearby that is being dredged? They pull out some wonderful stuff....old stuff that has been in since the canal was made sometimes....what about shadowy figures watching the dredgers for their lost items...or sunset over a old seaside icon...?
Also..what about fishermen who go out for shellfish, and flat fish...going out at sunset? Just ideas...and you'll have to have photos..
