Question:

Help! i cant understand a part of the poem "pity this busy monster, manunkind".?

the poem is as follows:

pity this busy monster,manunkind,

not. Progress is a comfortable disease:
your victum(death and life safely beyond)

plays with the bigness of his littleness
-electrons deify one razorblade
into a mountainrange;lenses extend

unwish through curving wherewhen until unwish
returns on its unself.
A world of made
is not a world of born-pity poor flesh

and trees, poor stars and stones, but never this
fine specimen of hypermagical

ultraomnipotence. We doctors know

a hopeless case if-listen:there's a hell
of a good universe next door;let's go

the part i dont get is the "unwish through curving wherewhen until unwish returns on its unself." part of the poem. i dont understand what the speaker is saying...it doesnt even sound like english.

thanks

i think this poem speaks of the fragileness of humanity. The part you dont get describes how what happens to us and this earth is a direct result of what we do to it (for example-global warming). kinda like what goes around comes around.

we think as a society we are progressing, but are we really? should we be looking to the ways of our ancestors who lived off of the land, and not just on it?

hmmmmmmmmmmm.

it's a thought provoker.
