If you mean by lack of Great artists like the likes of
Leonardo, etc... I think we're living in the age of
Thomas Kinkade 'The Painter of Light' and his works
will don the walls and halls of many fine places for many
years to come. We're also seeing a shift somewhat new in character from painters like Leonid and Antonov called Pallette Knife Painting....these are not the standard pallette
knife techniques previously seen and there is a long
list of artists who are trying their hand at this.

Aside from painting we still have a vast number of sculptors
and glass makers skillfully crafting some of the finest
pieces ever seen...at least in my humble opinion.

No, art is not dead. It is just difficult for artists to make
a living unless they find a niche in the market and gain
some type of notoriety from it. It's competitive and
people are always stealing other peoples ideas.....
