Question:

What do you define as 'good' hospitality?

What expectations do you have from your host?
And how do you behave as a guest?

The word hospitality itself is linked with the word 'hospital' which is not as far removed as we may first think.

The first hospirals (and therefore hospitality) was about places of rest for the travelling weary, to be fed, and watered, and cared for in a friendly manner. Advice could be given/sought and a good tonic (for medicinal purposes you understand) offered at the same time.

These days an open ear, a shoulder if need be, or just a laugh or two would top off the list of good hospitality! For me anyway.
