Question:

What is Angel's in America really about?

I have my own ideas on the subject, but they lack cohesion right now. I'm dealing only with Part I for my project, but due to a lack of time... I haven't read Part II. Part II is not part of the project, but it could help me to gain a better understanding of Part I. I can tell you that I'm thinking the play itself is not really so much about AIDs or even homosexuality, but more about how america deals with being america in the wake of communism in the mid-80s. I'm going to re-read the play more carefully and see what I can pick out of it, but I really need to be moving on with my concept for my project, because that's even more important than the project itself. I can zip through the project once I have a concept to ride with. I was going to try to subtley relating the play to current events, but due to a lack of understanding about the playwright's original intent that becomes a little more difficult.

Thanks!

...specifically the play version. I'm not dealing with the HBO special even though I hear that it's pretty true to the play version.

It's about random acts of kindness in a cruel and unfair world. If we allow life without the grace of God, we're a lonely, isolated world without purpose and kindness.
