It's about someone who's had a secret affair with a lover, who has then gone onto break their heart.

It uses rhyme-an ABAB rhyme scheme the whole way through. The poet uses repetition of the phrase: 'In silence and tears', talking about the past and the future. This shows that the pain is continuous and it still as fresh as they day the lover broke the poet's heart.
