Poetry help :)?
ok, i am writing a poem and i need help with the ending. So far i have this ( the poem is callled Existance )
What is existance
Why do we exist
Do we have meaning
Do we have a purpose
Or are we here for decoration
Decoration for a lowly place
Are any of us here for something great
To do something great
Existance
Is it the thing we all want
Or the thing we all hate
Btw im only 12 :)

also, for 12, do u think im a good Poet heres another poem i did that my Principal and teacher relly relly liked ( and my teacher goes to Poetry slams alot )
The Poet
The poet of Rome lets out his soul
He speaks his mind without knowing it
He shows the beauty of the world through words
The poet sees the world differently
He sees like and death, then expresses them
So tell me now, look at something, look at someone, use words that tell about it or them.
Let out your soul
Speak your mind
Tell the world how you feel
Shout to the heavens
Express yourself

You know... I would say you should stick with it. I would recommend that maybe you spend some time exploring what's being published currently in poetry. Maybe you will find some favorites out there I'd also recommend finding a good book on the subject something with exercises like the Poet's Companion by Dorianne Laux and Kim Addonizio. You could also go to redactions.com, they have a section called "Poetry Assignments" and try tackling some of those. Writing poetry is like a muscle, you have to flex it by constantly writing, even if it's not good and you know its not, you do it because it will help you with the work that IS good.
Bottom line: Stick with it. Be a constant reader. Not just of poetry, but of everything. Be a good listener too! You will be able to use other people's experiences too. When you get a chance to take any special electives in English or poetry--jump on it!
