Question:

Could anyone help me understand a very short poem...English not my mother tongue.....?

People paper today,
the speed of oblivion is accelerating.
licked a stamp,
and my journey is on the way.
smooth silky flames,
emanating through the back of my eyes.
Divinity?
The more concentration,
the more abstraction,
reality fades into one.
you could be my mother!
yet she stays always hidden.

My friend said he found it,
yet I think he wrote it. anyway what does it mean?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

Sounds like it could be about the accelerating pace of technology. There are references to "archaic" technologies such as paper (instead of electronic files) and stamps (instead of email). Technology provides a sense of divinity, the abstraction of information, and the intermingling of the real and the virtual. It brings everyone closer together ("you could be my mother") yet it makes everyone anonymous ("yet she stays hidden forever").
