What are some tips for writing/adapting books to scripts? Is a class necessary? Can you do it on your own successfully?

Yes, you can do it on your own successfully. However, there are lots and lots and lots of books that provide advice. So much, that it can be overwhelming.

My advice? See if you can get a copy of your favourite screenplay/script. And go to the library and get a couple of books. Then, just do it.

The hard part is the editing.

And then getting someone to look at the script.
