Question:

I would like some help interpreting a short poem? I am not native speaking English....?

A little now,
come later,
eternity today.
An apple full of seeds,
created on destruction,
hardships handed over,
pain is insight.
Angels weeping,
quenching my thirst,
the Gods admiring my loss.

My friend gave me this,
said it was written by german poet,
yet he did not know who.
Did he write this?
anyway what is it saying?

To me when it starts out the poet is talking about death and asking for it to come slowly as eternity is associated usually with death.
The apple and destruction and hardships is to me a reference to the biblical Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and sin entered into the world.

The end about the angels weeping and the Gods admiring his loss is the poet blaming and being somewhat resentful for the worlds' hard and difficult paths although it sounds like it could be the loss of a loved one he is talking about.
