Why do people believe the Da Vinci Code is real?

In fact it is a great work of fiction and even the authors say so. There is absolutely no truth at all in the entire work of fiction, and yet people are so desperate to believe that THEY can find the mystery of existence! When, in fact, the mystery is, there is no mystery. How sad these people are.

Just like anything to do with religion, people use any pretext to back up what belief appeals to them.
This book is just a novel, and not a very good one at that. The mysterious writings on the church which were purported in the book to have historical christian meanings have now been translated as being songs which are now available on CD.
