I have a set of books with collections of artwork plates...they look important, how do i find out their value

I've tried a whole bunch of web sites and entering individual plates names, but I'm getting no where?!!

contact your local museum. they do appraisals there.

it will be helpful also. to find the publishing house who published the book & when it was published.
