Question:

Actual size of gems?

I need to buy cubic zirconia for my jewelry business. When I search websites they give me the size in mm. Where can I find a picture of the actual size in mm? And do they measure across the width of the largest part? Or are they talking height?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

The measurements given in mm refer to the diameter of the round or square cut stones. If there are 2 numbers, they usually refer to Length x Width. This applies to cut shapes like oval, rectangle/baguette, pear, heart etc. If there is a 3rd number, it would refer to Depth. Depth is the "thickness" of the stone is when viewed from the side.
