Question:

Do you keep a journal?

A spiritual journal? A life journal? A poetry journal?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

I keep a life journal online at livejournal.com. I actually stumbled onto livejournal in May 2001 and started using it. At the time I was about to start high school. So I continued writing it whenever I felt like it for the next 4 years. I documented significant moments and vented my frustrations. I kept it up to date throughout high school and then when I graduated in 2005 I copied and pasted all 431 entries to microsoft word and got it printed. (I made a cover page, table of contents, title pages for each year of high school).

Then a few days later I started a new journal to document my life after high school. Two years later I have written 202 entries in the second journal and plan on continuing for another two years before repeating the process.

In my journal entries I write about my daily life, what I go through on a daily basis, what kinds of hopes I have for the future (whether it's tomorrow of next year) and what kind of obstacles I encounter.

Some day I plan on getting my "high school" journal professionally bound and then in a few years I'll get my current journal bound. Since I never had the opportunity to meet either of my grandfathers or one of my uncles, I hope that some day long after I'm dead a relative will be curious enough to wonder what kind of person I was, or what kind of world I lived in so they can read my journals and get to know me.
