Why dont people take art seariosly anymore?

i am a writer/cartoonist/cultural pholosipher, and i dont know why most people think of my art as cute and dont take much notice to how deep the ideas are, it makes me angry

Any art form is subjective when judge from an emotional perspective and objective when judge from an intellectual perspective . . . Unfortuneately it's not about to change anytime soon. it's been that way since time itself began. Art as in music or poetry or any form of self expression for that matter, is caught in between the emotions and the intellect. Now i'm not an artist but a musician and i can tell you unless one can relate to what there seeing or hearing or reading, forget it. The observer of a painting or the listener of a song or the reader of a poem has to be touched in some way by what is familiar to them not what the artist wants the viewer or reader or listener to be familiar with. Simply put, every thing is relative, with out relativity there's little use,
in trying to convince someone of what you had in mind to begin with. in other words if i like trees and your painting a water scene forget it, you could be in be another davince and i couldn't care less.

Don't waist your time getting angry it ain't worth it trust me i know i've been there and done that. Another thing and i hate to point this out but it's true, and i mean no disrespect against physical edcucation, but when it come's to art as oppose to sports activities in school, i'll give you one guess as where the money is going to go to . . .

A true artist in any genre, does it for them self and the love of the art itself. perhaps there's an ironical twist to all this, you know a hidden blessing in desguise if you will and that is simply this, just maybey it's better that it is this way, would you want some idiot bying a picture you painted not becaues it's beautiful, but because the frame matches the curtains in there living room? i certainly wouldn't . . . Don't get angry, just go paint to your hearts delight,
after all does not the heart know best where you are coming from? . . . take care.
