I do really like Pablo Neruda. I became acquainted with his work shortly after I finished high school, and I've enjoyed it ever since. My favorite of his poems, back then, was one of his sonnets, from which I'll quote a few lines:

Yo no tengo jam㡳 porque dinstinto
fu㭬 soy, ser㩮 Y en nombre
de mi cambiante amor proclamo la pureza.

La muerte es s㳬o piedra del olvido.
Te amo, beso en tu boca la alegr㭡.
Traigamos le㱡. Haremos fuego en la monta㱡.

Neruda managed to be populist without ever being vacuous. Poets like him are in short supply these days.
