Mona Lisa: Ok, it's great...but if you can sell it and save lives why not?

Art value is subjective but human lives and suffering isn't. It harms no one to sell that painting or other 'treasuers' for big money. Yes it's great art but it's also just oil on canvas. Why not sell it.

Its not like they're spending millions to preserve it there. I'd just say that the Louvre museum authorities are keeping monalisa and other 'treasures' as you put it to attract tourists. But it would be a great shame if monalisa is kept in someone's possession.
There are many other ways to save human lives you know, like the money spent for luxury by some people.
