Question:

What do u think of this writing/poem tell me what symbolism u see ?10 points4 the most well thought out answer

SHE SAID YES, SHE SAID YES.
THE FINAL OUTCOME OF HER SOLEM DECISION
THE DECISION THAT WOULD LAST INDEFINATELY HER CHOICE TO FINALLY LOVE

IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL LIKE HER EYES WHO HAVE LIGHTEND THE PATH OF HAPPYNESS FOR ME SO MANY TIMES
JUST A GAZE AND OVERWHELMEING SO EASLY
HER HAIR THAT COMPLEMENTS HER EYES EXQUISITELY

HER BODY SO SOFT SO SMOOTH AND FLUID LIKE THE WATER THAT I LONG TO DRINK

WE LAUGH WE CRY WE PLAY
IN THE PARK ON THE GRASS
HOLDING HANDS AT THE END
TELLING STORIES SO OFTEN
THAT WE HOLD SO CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS
OF HOW WE HURT, LOVE AND WISH
THAT THINGS STAY THE SAME THAT TIME NOT CHANGE OUR HAPPY THOUGHTS

MY THOUGHTS OF HER TRUE
WRITTEN SO MANY TIMES
LATE NIGHTS, EARLY MORNS,
EVENING'S AWARE
FOR THEY OBSERVED ME SO OFTEN
WRITNG OF HOW WE HAVE AND WILL HAVE SPENT OUR LIVES
OUR FAMILY OUR CHILDERN THEIR DREAMS YET TO COME TRUE

LOVES SIMPLY MY POSSESSION IN WHICH EVEN DEATH CAN'T UNDO
IF HER BLOOD THREATEND SPILLED
IN PROTECTION TAKE MINE FIRST

SO THAT I HAVEN'T LOST THE WORLD TO ME
LET OUR CHILDERN"S LIFE BE NOT OURS
BUT THE WAY WE WISH OURS WAS

TONIGHT I SIT AND WRITE ONCE MORE
WITH TWO WINE GLASSES ON THE BROWN ROUND TABLE OF OUR LIFES
FILLED TO BRIM SO THAT WE MAY SHARE
THE FINEST OF THE WINES OF OUR LIFES
FOR THERE IS NOTHING THAT I WOULD NOT DO FOR HER

YET ONE GLASS TAINTED, ONE UNTOUCHED SITTING IN DESPAIR SHE SAID YES
SHE SAID YES

BUT NOT TO ME

That was a really sad poem. I like the fact that the last line of your poem twisted the entire picture that was building up in my head for so long. And it was a powerful ending, with just 4 simple words 'But not to me'. I loved it!

A scorned love is tragic enough, but the fact that it was coupled with the eventual realisation that the girl's heart was never joined with the poet's at the very beginning of the poem makes it even more tragic.
