what do you think of design? Are you willing to pay for a good design which is high cost?

When you mention high costs, I think no, no need.
Good design, assuming that you mean living space, and not cars, comes from the heart, and a DIY job after a visit to the local store.
Well, that's how I do it, and all is well.
Do a crayon design, get the materials, and bung it on.
Did it with my boat.
It is now purple & black, with matching curtains I had made up.
Upholstery similar, and even a purple engine..
Very cheap, and just what I fancied.
I'm not a design bod when it comes to such items, but just go for what I like seeing.
On the cheap, and all is well.
