Question:

Who knows the poem "if wishes were horses'?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

If wishes were horses

I looked out my window to wish on a star
To have you with me or to be where you are.
The Old Moon just laughed at the tears that I cried
Said, "If wishes were horses, beggars could ride."
If Wishes were horses, beggars could ride,
My prayers would be answered my tears would be dried,
The love that I treasured would not be denied,
If wishes were horses, beggars could ride.
..
The cold light of day brought the truth to my mind,
You're gone forever, you'll never be mine,
But, tonight, when I gaze on that light from afar,
You know that I'll wish on a star.
If wishes were horses, beggars could ride,
My prayers would be answered, my tears would be dried.
The love that I treasured would not be denied,
If wishes were horses, beggars could ride.
-------
If wishes were fishes, beggars would eat.
