Question:

I'm writing a poem?

Hello,

I'm writing a poem...or, I'm trying to.

It has to be about an object, or about something that reminds you of that object.

For example:
There was a picture of a couple, and it reminded him of where it was taken, a sweet innocent town, and then that reminded him of baseball as a little kid, so he chose to wrote his poem about baseball.

I'm having serious writers block, and if you could help me, just spark my brain, I'll give you 10 points.

Thanks so much!!!! (In advance =) )

Choose a specific style.. Haiku? Sonnet? Limerick?

Then.. just observe the photo or object that catches your attention.. don't think about it.. just write your observation. The harder we think about this kind of thing, the more stilted it becomes. Think in terms of ideas running through all of you, not just your brain.. through your imagination in your toes and your nose and your fingers and elbows..

Poetry needs lots of room.. freedom.. elbow room? make it a dance? a song?

Tell your 'block' that it's welcome to hang out, but in about ten minutes, you expect it to take a hike.. meanwhile.. walk around the block, clean the bathroom? do something besides a poem that will be productive and take all of your focus.

When the job is done.. just write.. and see what comes out.

make sense?

really doesn't matter..

make art.
