Position:Home>General - Arts & Humanities > Were there any female painters during the time of the masters?Question: Were there any female painters during the time of the masters?I was just watching the film Girl with a pearl earring, and it just came to me that of all the famous artists that lived during the 17th-19th century, they were all male, in fact prior to the last 50 years i can't think of any famous female painters. anyone?
