My father is a man of love
When I was little I looked above
and his kind face looked down at me
he'd smile and wink for me to see

I'd try to wink back - close one eye
without fail both would shut and I'd try
to open one while scrunching my face
and Dad would laugh and slow his pace

He'd say, "Darling you are my light"
"My flashlight shining in the night"
"Without you, don't know what I'd do"
I love my dad, wouldn't you?
