Do you think geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci are chosen by God ?

I prefer not to think so, but to think that they were in love with learning and studying...but then again I prefer to think that way...What do you think ?

i think that many of the personalities in the history of art are chosen to have a special destiny. maybe they were picked by god to do some kind of work or just worship. but also i think that some artists , by their own will, choose to give their artistic works to the lord.

for example, i look at bach`s life and see his modesty, his simplicity and extreme passion that he had in writing pieces for organ but what is there to say about his passions (of matthew, john) great vocal-symphonic works, of a complexity that astounds us the moment we just hear some notes... are that they are all dedicated to god, to his birth, his crucifixion and his resurrection

or beethoven.. he could not even hear and he wrote his 9th symphony with the final ode on schiller`s lyrics.. "joyful, joyful, lord we adore thee... " and so on... he was also trying to find a harmony, something special... and through his works god is praised..

look at brahms ... he was called the classic of the romantic period .. his german requiem is brilliant.. a prayer dedicated to divinity..

and so many others. and even if we don`t speak about their religious works, we can find that there is a spark of genius in everything that made them famous. and sometimes you just wonder how could they even write such masterpieces? i think that God did chose them to be some kind of message senders to the rest of the humanity that listens their works.. and maybe some of them dedicated what they wrote as a token of gratitude..
