Need help on writing a poem?

Ok, I need to write a "courtly love-song" for school. Normally I wouldn't fret over a school assignment but I also want to write something to show this girl I like... I am not really all that great with writing poetry, let alone a poem showing my love. Any suggestions?

why are you writing a poem for her in the first place?

don't put love anywhere in it, if your smart. you'll scare her unless you've been dating a while.

try taking something she likes or you like about her and just describe it. if she doesn't appreciate the effort too bad.
