Einstein in Arts & Humanities? That's a new one.
Einstein's Theory of Relativity was just beautiful, and I'm not even a phsyicist. The Theory of Relativity (ToR) is Einstein's famous equation, E=mc^2, or, in everyday terms, Engergy = Mass times the speed of light (c) squared. But, to most people this means nothing. What it means is that the energy something carries depends on it's mass, because the speed of light is a constant. Or something like that.

But the coolest part about Einstein's theory is that it explains why some stars are different colors. If you look up at the sky, some stars are white, some stars are blue and some stars are red. The reason why that is so is because it depends on how it travels.

Einstein's ToR states that if something is traveling at the speed of light, it shrinks (or grows?). Light travels at the speed of light. Light waves come in different colors because of their wave lengths. If an object projecting light is traveling towards us, the light the object is emitting will be a different length than if it were traveling away from us, and this would be different still if it stayed in the same place. When the light changes size, it changes color, hence the different colors of the stars! (Now if I could just remember which one is which!)

Anyways, it is a totally rockin', way cool, impossible to understand theory.
