well, unles this is some teenage joke, Lampworking is a kind of hot glass process for making beads over a torch. The artist melts a rod of glass until it is malleable enough to wrap around a metal rod, then adds different colors of glass to create a design.Then the whole thing is usually encased in another layer of clear glass, and then put in an annealing oven to cure. If it is set out in the air it will crack, so it has to cool down gradually, as all hot glass does. |
