A good cause/ charity for project?

for a studio art project, we have to choose a cause to base a poster on; such as "breast cancer", but i'm looking for something more edgy. i was thinking an inner-city poverty one, but i need help finding actual organizations. feel free to contribute any fresh ideas! THANKS
