Question:

Any expert on Canturbury tales out there?

Why is Chaucer important... and what types of character does he idealize? also... if anyone could answer this... How does this work use the frame story technique?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

Chaucer is important because we don't have that many fictional works of his ability from that time period.

A frame story is a "story within a story" like the Never-Ending Story or The Princess Bride. In this case, the "frame" part of the story is a group of travelers on their way to Canturbury. To pass the time each character agrees to share a story. These are the stories with the frame story.

Sorry if that was a bit confusing. I particularly like the story from the Woman from Bathe and the Knight's Tale. Enjoy.
