Question:

What is the 3 modernism(movements in modern architechture)?

I cannot find it on the internet

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:

I'm not sure these are THE three or the only three, but I think they are the best know movements of the 20th century:

(1) Bauhaus (Germany, esp. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe) reconciling European traditional crafts with industrial design and technology

(2) International (primarily US, esp. Frank Lloyd Wright) emphasizing simple, unornamented design and the candid use of modern materials, such as concrete, steel beams, and glass, and especially for residences organic relationship to the site

(3) Organic modernism (esp. Eero Saarinen), specializing in a democratic and imaginative playfulness.

Then, toward the end of the century, there was postmodernism and hypermodernism, but that is more futuristic. In all its styles, modernism is always associated with simplicity of design and the elimination of merely decorative ornament.
