This is the poem I made up and said at my grandma's funeral this week. She was almost 99 years old. MY SWEETHEART, MY GRANDMA, MY FRIEND. I'm going to miss you dear grandma, I'm going to miss your sweet voice, everytime I called you, you always had the time, you made me feel important, always sweet to me and kind, and listened to what I said. I will regret all my life for not calling more and taking more time to visit. I found a friend in you..a friend whose faithfulness..to me, was loving and true..Who shares my fondest hopes with me and understands my dreams..and you are part of everything I ever think or do and out of all the parts of life I am or hope to be..I need not tell you My Dear Grandma...You are the best in me..You left so brave and with dignity..this big-hearted petite Texan girl seemed to need no sympathy..You are sweetest of my songs..The truest of my friends.I thought you would never end..You are the hand that lifts me up ...taught me to sweep and mop and wash the dirty cups..Oh My Dear Grandma there is so much I could write or say...Of my life of 56 years, this is my sadist day.
