Another poem?

This one is for english and is supposed to be a sonnet, thought I'd share, I would love for contructive critism!

My life is so ordinary,
the same as anybody
the story may change,
but the idea is the same
feeling like i'm in a cage.
Same thing, different name.
Wanting to get out,
do something and show them what I'm about.

That's what I am doing.
what I am strivng towards-
going out and showing
just what I can be afterwards.
After I change
and break out of this cage.

It doesn't follow any of the the traditional sonnet format, as far as I can see. You need ten syllables per line, and every other syllable is stressed, beginning with the second syllable of the first line. That's called iambic pentameter. Then you need fourteen lines. The rhyming scheme can vary, but choose one and stick with it. An example is ABAB CDCD EFEF GG. Or another type: ABBA CDDC EFFE GG.
