How are you personally affected by the art of Japan?

For all the Japanese people (or people who are Japanese at heart), I want to know how are you all personally affected by the art of Japan.

For myself, I was born and raised here in California, so doing this for my art class is bringing some difficulty in completing this assignment.

im not japanese but i think japanese art took andy warhols concept of pop culture and turned it on its took it in directions he never would have thought of. takashi murakami does louis vuitton. takashi murakami does gashapon. andy would be proud.
