Question:

Help with double/triple tounging?

I play Euphonium and a while back I asked my teachers about double tounging. They told me to say the syllables Ta-ka repeatedly, which I can do, but my problem is actually buzzing them. Whenever I put my mouthpiece to my lips I flab out immediately when I try to double tounge, and when I don't flab out I sound REALLY horrible, I can't move very fast at all. Why does this happen? In have practically given up on this due to frustration and poor results, but if someone helps me out here I would REALLY apprecitate it. (giving 10 points to best answer)

well i play french horn, so yea thats all i got to say.

um its really hard REALLY hard at first, but really all you have to do is practice, so get over your, ew i sound horrible thing.

what you need to do, is first start buzzing like usual, then kind of do a really fast legato. then once you get really good at that, try to speed it up until you get to the triple tonguing speed. [yea i know its not triple tongueing.] but once you get as fast as you can get with that, start to turn the legato and make it harder until its pretty much like staccato.
