Onion

Layer by layer, the onion is pealed
The goal is outmoded, my bliss is concealed
Little is felt where excitement before
could be expected behind every door

The music that once was my pleasure and joy
has lost its charm like a broken toy
I ask my maker: "What is wrong?
Didn't I choose your notes for my song?"

"Here is my answer: When shall you learn?
When driving in circles, make a turn!
Free your soul from this lack of feel;
Find a new onion to peal!"
