Is there a way to know whether Daylight Savings time was in effect when I was born Sept. 1 1954 in Winnipeg ?

The province was Manitoba, which is in the center of Canada, just north of Chicago, I think Central Standard Time. Im trying to learn more about my astrology chart according to the more accurate Jyotish Vedic Astrology, and I need his info to do that.

Daylight savings usually ends at the end of October beginning of November, so it should have been in effet on 1 September.
