Question:

Making an Amateur Film.?

Hey,

For about 3 years now me and my friends have wanted to make an Amateur film but just recently have we really gotten into 1st gear and its going to be a Horror film.

We have the necessary scripts and actors and so on, its just the technical level that we seem to be a bit stuck on.

Firstly our budget is... none existent, really. Its just a bit of fun at the moment, but as I am taking Media at University this year I want to try and get to grips with Directing, as It is a life long goal of mine.

Secondly, the only equipment we have is our pc's, I have a digital camera, but will be buying a digital camcorder (if anyone can recommend a reasonably cheap yet good one, or atleast what to look for, that would be a big help :) )

Another thing we need to know are programs that can perform editing, or suggestions on how to get effects.

Thanks in advance ^_^ Any help, or suggestions, anyone can make will be a great help getting us off our feet.

Try going to FX Home.com. There, you can buy software to do special effects, such as muzzle flares, lazers, etc. Try looking at Sears or Wal Mart to find a camcorder, then read the manual. It will show you how to fade in and things like that. Funny, because I have been in the process of making an ameteur film myself. Good Luck... i'm sure you'll do fine! ^_^
